BCISD Parents Receive Spirit Award at the
31st Annual Parent Involvement Conference

Our community was very well represented as 20 parents of Brooks County ISD were recognized for their unlimited spirit while attending the 31st Annual Parent Involvement Conference. This was held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. A total of 742 parents from 26 districts throughout the region were present to listen attentively to guest speakers addressing the theme, “Unmasking Barriers = Student Success.” Presenters included Charlotte Murray, Albert Guerra, and Mychal Wynn who raised the attention of everyone on topics “Raising Respectable Children”, “Attendance Requirements/House Bill 2398”, and “Scholarships & Financial Aid: Pathways to College & Careers.” Food and door prizes were available which added to the great fellowship of all.

Jenna Perez signs her letter of intent to Clarendon College

On Monday, January 18 2016, Senior Jenna Perez signed her letter of intent to Clarendon College to play softball. Jenna is the daughter of La-Nani and J.B. Perez. Jenna has worked on her game of softball for years and had one goal in mind and that was to play softball at the college level. Her dedication for the game has been an honor to watch. 
Jenna has been a true role model to the program. The entire girls' athletic program had the honor of witnessing her sign her letter of intent.
